2004

  • MARCH 2004

    27th March - 3rd April 2004

None stop action from day one, our party consisted of 5 and this was our first trip over to France. Most of the action came during the night with the tench very active at first light, had around about 60 of them between us. Paul caught several good zander best going 13lb.oz and a new personal best for him. Many carp between 4lb and 12lb lost count of how many we caught the bigger fish were a little harder to catch but we found the more bait you put out the bigger the fish. The five of us had a total of 28 carp over 15lb with 8 of them going over 20lb, the best fish of the week went 33lb.09oz, Liam also had a good grass carp of 29lb.06oz along with two small doubled figure catfish. Facilities very good with local supermarket only 3 miles down the road

Thanks for a wonderful weeks fishing and all your help Tony, Paul and gang.....West London

  • APRIL 2004

    3rd - 10th April 2004

Very good facilities and great fishing, weather a little up and down but sport very good. Went into a town called Chateauroux about 30mins drive from the lake and must say well worth a visit as there are plenty of things to do and see. An ideal venue for the wife and kids as our lads never stop catching, Barry caught the biggest carp of the week which weighed in at 34lb needless to say he was over the moon and we'll probably never hear the end of it!!

All the very best and hope to see you again next year, "work permitting".....The Roth family from Colchester in Essex.

    10th - 17th April 2004

74 carp for the week and a catfish of 31lb made for a super weeks fishing. Of the 74 carp we caught, the biggest went 29lb.07oz. We had 5 other 20's with the rest going between 5 and 19lb, in addition we had several tench and zander to over 12lb. An excellent venue and our advice to any other anglers fishing this lake is to get plenty of sleep before you arrive as the action is non-stop, also bring plenty of bait, NRG's did the trick for us.

Thanks to Fred & Peter for all their advice and look forward to meeting you again in the future.

Steve, Paul & Kim - Luton

    17th - 24th April 2004

Next up saw Simon wragg, Mathew, Chris, Sam and Ben from - Toddington in Bedfordshire. Although a poor week big fish wise due to the drop in water temperature they did manage to catch over 100 fish with the biggest going a shade over 10lb. Many small commons and some mirror's in the high single's, a 2lb crusion carp and 4 tench around the 3lb mark.

Thanks for the visit over lads and sorry you did not manage to get among the bigger fish.

    24th - 1st May 2004

Thanks for a great week and all your help, this was our third visit to France and must say our best trip so far. Although we are not dedicated carp anglers we did manage 11 fish over 20lb with the biggest going a tab over 27lb. In total between the 3 of us, we caught 51 carp most being between 8lb - 15lb, we also caught loads of small commons and tench on the match tackle. A much enjoyable break from the rat race at home and hope to see you again sometime.

  • MAY 2004

    1st - 8th May 2004

After an eventful trip down from Calais we were setup and fishing by early evening. It was not long before we were on the fish. We were both so tired by Sunday afternoon due to the "Non stop action" that we both crashed out waking at just before midnight..."must have needed it"!. By the end of the week we had caught 79 carp with 4 carp over that magic 20lb mark. A truly memorable holiday, would have loved to have caught some of those big mirror's and grass carp which spent most of the day basking in the sun.

Look forward to meeting you again soon and thanks for everything......Phil & Mick from South London

    8th - 22nd May 2004

Great facilities and ideal for the wife and kids, we brought our two boy's Mark & Karl aged 15yrs and 18yrs as they are both keen Carp anglers and have been on at us to take them to France for a while now. My wife and I although not great lovers of fishing did have a dabble and caught about 25 carp between us, one of which weighed 23lb. Most of our days were spent taking in this lovely region of France with it's many Castles and places of Interest to visit, 2 weeks was just not enough time to cram it all in. The boy's only left the bankside on a few occasions as the fishing was most enjoyable and they could not be persuaded to come out with us most times. Mark & Karl caught a total of 147 carp between them in the fortnight that we were here, the biggest was a grass carp of 39lb caught by Karl on top with a floater. Karl also had another 34lb Mirror and 8 mirror's over 20lb. Mark caught 9 carp over 20lb with the biggest of the week for him going a shade over 29lb. Both the boys caught many fish between 10lb and 17lb along with some tench and zander. Mary my wife also caught a pike of 18lb which she was well pleased with.

Many thanks for all your advice and the day's out we had were superb......The Russell's from Coventry

    22nd - 29th May 2004

Next up saw the visit of Frank and his wife Sue who enjoyed a get away week together an a little fishing. The result was a 36lb grass carp and a Mirror of 31lb along with 7 carp over 20lb, 16 between 15lb - 19lb and many smaller ones.

Thanks Frank, all the best and thanks for the bit's you left us.

  • JUNE 2004

    29th - 6th June 2004

A much anticipated break and well worth the visit. Facilities at the lake and the lake itself are of a good standard and well worth the £575 for the week. Weather was very hot during the days and manageable at nights. Between the 3 of us we caught Tench 10lb, Zander to just over 13lb, pike 21lb and the biggest of the week a beautiful 35lb Mirror caught by The Pope. We caught 15 carp over 20lb between us with many low and upper doubles.

Comes highly recommended and well valued....Tim, Alf and The Pop from Hertfordshire.

    6th - 13th June 2004

Next up saw the visit of Bob & Liam from Derby who had a superb weeks fishing taking over 65 carp with 11 going over 20lb and a fantastic 38lb grass carp now being a new personal best for Bob.

Well done gent's and look forward to seeing you again..........Regards Fred & Peter.

    20th - 3rd July 2004

Lovely setting, very friendly host, good facilities and loads of action during our stay. Must say the bigger carp were hard to catch but all the same had a superb 14 days of peace and tranquility. Plenty of things to see and places to go, the wife took our two daughters off out most days which left myself and son Sam in peace around the lake. First time we have been fishing in france as a family and we can very much recommend this lake to the like minded. The best fish of our stay was a mint 36lb mirror along with 6 other decent fish all going over 20lb. Sam also had a catfish of 26lb several tench, pike and zander. Just to add what a wonderful concept of paying £575 per week and having your own lake for the duration of your stay and as Arnie said we'll be back.

Many thanks again Pete, all the best Sam, Kay, Kim and myself.

  • JULY 2004

    10th - 17th July 2004

Next up saw the visit of Mark Taylor and party who made the trip over from Wales. Although unclear on what was caught had plenty of carp with no tench or other species showing. Understand they tried out a few other venue's and stretches of rivers in the local area.

Many thanks for your visit over and sorry about the conditions........regards, Fred & Peter.

  • AUGUST 2004

    31st July - 14th August 2004

First trip over to France for us and very please with our choice of venue. The first week went quick, weather great with most of the action coming during the small hours. Between the 3 of us my brother Terry had the lions share of the bigger carp with the best being a superb 35lb Mirror in mint condition. The second week continued the same as the first but the fishing became better in the day time with over 30 carp caught on floating dog biscuit the biggest going to Steve which was a fat common carp of 29lb.06oz. In total between the 3 of us we caught 126 carp, many low doubles 19 twenties and 5 carp over 30lb. We also had great fun on the float rods catching some good quality tench, pike and zander in addition to small mirrors, commons and grass carp.

Excellent venue with good facilities and local attractions. All the best Mike, Steve & Terry - Kent.

    14th - 21st August 2004

Had a blinding time, weather baking and the wife now resemble an iraqi. An ideal lake for the not so serious carp angler as you do have to wade through the smaller ones to get to the bigger fish but having said that it's great fun doing it. Caught around 30 odd carp between my son and I, with the biggest fish of the week being a 27lb Mirror along with 5 over 20's.......well pleased.

Thanks Fred & Peter for all your help, love Linda & Bob and son Mat from - Stoke on Trent

    21 - 28th August 2004

    Awaiting catch report........

  • September 2004

    4th - 18th September 2004

Decided to go for Carp Hunters Abroad this year as this is the first time I've taken the Wife and kids with me on my annual trip over to France. Worked out really well as there was loads to do and see local to the lake and the trip out to a place called Cheateauroux was well worth the visit with much to see and do. Weather was excellent the fishing although a bit slow the first week improved during the second week. Caught over 70 carp, 10 twenties and 4 thirties with the rest going between 8lb & 19lb

Thanks for all your advice and good company regards from the sways - Swindon

    18th - 25th September 2004

Did not really come for the carp more into general course fishing ourselves and were well pleased with what we got for our money. The facilities are more than adequate with the caravan being a bonus. Fishing top's, caught fish from the minute we arrived to when we packed up and left. For you carp boys the biggest carp we caught went 32lb and was a grass carp caught on bread and only 6lb line with a size 12 hook!! not bad for noddies.

Many thanks once again and look forward to seeing you again next year....Robbie, Frank and the "fat boy" Lee - London

    25th September - 2nd October 2004

Etang des Paullaua comes highly recommended with good facilities within a pleasant surrounding. Fishing was a little patchy but caught well with the highlight of the week being a surprise 33lb.09oz Mirror carp which my friend caught as we were packing up this morning {Saturday}.

An as Arnie said "well be back" - Ray & Tim - Hertfordshire

  • October 2004

    2nd - 9th October 2004

Nice lake with excellent facilities and all supermakets close by, many good restaurants locally to the lake. Fishing was as expected with good quality carp and tench many bigger carp lost due to our light tackle although we did manage 5 twenties and a 32lb mirror carp. Plumb fish of the week was a 29lb grass carp which was a new personal best for me.

    Many thanks - Chris & Steve.......Preston.
