Made the trip down in just over 5 hours from Calais and were well pleased to be back on Mearult. We came last year and very much enjoyed ourselves catching well, this time ended up doing slightly better with a total of 27 carp and 3 cats. Biggest fish of the week was a 38lb.09oz mirror carp in mint condition also took another 2 30's to 33lb with the cats going 20lb, 26lb.02oz and 36lb.10oz. Another superb weeks fishing and although a little cold especially at nights we still caught well and had a great time. Facilities and hospitality still spot on and well be back again sometime in the future.

Many thanks for the reception you gave us,it made me feel really welcome, this was the first time Steve and I had been away together without the wives. I had a great laugh too I think Lee and Dean really enjoyed it, just to go fishing without being badgered by mobile phones going off ("when you coming home") etc: also the male banter to go with it. The air was blue quite a few times just to let off steam, with the bonus of knowing there's no one about for miles !!! .The facilities were spot on, even though we all slept out every night, there was the added comfort of sleeping in the caravan if you wished. Hey ! we braved all the weathers so we could fish 24/7 and that's what's it all about and the end of the day.

Hi, Fred & Peter......Thanks for a great time, your help and advise was much welcomed, in the end we ended up with 33 fish between us.

3 * 30's best going 36lb.08oz, in mint condition and a new personal best for me! 7* 20's to 28lb.03oz, 4 mirror's and 3 common's 21, carp between 12 & 19lb, 15 mirror's and 6 common's 2, catfish which weighed in at 22lb and 31lb and were the first for us.

Mirror's....26lb, 23lb.06oz, 23lb, 20lb.08oz, 24lb + loads of common's between 12 & 15lb along with 5 cats to 8lb.

To many fish to list we think in total about 50 fish totalling over 500lb of fish. Had a great week, some great phot's and hopefully will be back next year.

Fishing slow for first two days and then loads of carp between 15lb & 37lb, two 30's and 9 20's. In addition to the carp we banked 5 cats to 33lb and two pike to 18lb, all in all a great venue, superb host and excellent facilities.

Next over saw the visit of Ron, Bill, Ray, & James from Cheltenham who enjoyed a good weeks fishing taking several 20lb carp along with numerous other smaller carp with the week being topped of with a big cat of 54lb.

Next up saw Ricki & Paul from Merseyside who although were not big carp & cat fishermen caught well during their stay which was unfortunately stopped short because of a problem with the car. A few good upper doubles and I think a few smaller catfish.

Pleased you made it home ok! and thanks for the call to say so. Look forward to meeting you again next year when I'm sure your be more kitted up for the bigger carp and catfish.
