The best carp of the week was a 43lb mirror with 3 other 30's which weighed 32lb.6oz, 34lb.11oz, 37lb.03ozwe also had six 20's along with many upper doubles.

Perfect setting super facilities and great fishing you will not find better value for your money anywhere - Bill, Tom, Ian - West London, hope to see you all again next year.

    29th March - 5th April 2003

This week saw the visit of Mike Smith and friends who like our first party on this year had a slow start but ended up with 5 cat's nothing of any great size but they did lose two very big cat's one of which was a least six foot long! Not sure of the total catch for the week but the best carp of the week was a 35lb.07oz mirror.

Thanks for the visit over lads and speak to you soon - Fred & Peter

  • APRIL

    5th - 12th April 2003

Very friendly welcome from Fred's wife and from Peter. 1st class facilities, weather very up and down 1st day: caught 2 * 18lb and 1 * 12lb, 2nd day: 1 * 25lb. 8oz + 13lb, 12lb but lost very good fish! 3rd day: 15lb.06oz, 17lb, 14lb. Holiday was unfortunately cut short due to unforeseen circumstances.

Best wishes to you all and we hope all is well.   Peter, Fred & Tracey - Carp Hunters Abroad

    12th - 19th April 2003

This week saw on Dean & Chris from Leicester who had fish of 29lb (PB for Dean) 20lb.04oz (PB for Chris) and several others along with a small Pike. Lost 5 fish, 4 of which would have been big. Found barbed carp hooks in mouth of pike and 3 carp. If you like catching the mint condition carp in this lake do not use them. Extra vigilance will be stepped up this year with regards to the barbed hooks this may mean rig checks - so please don't use them. The carp in this lake have very soft mouths, due to the sandy bottom of the lake so barbed hooks are a big no! no!.

    Dean & Chris - Leicester

    19th - 26th April 2003

Fished 7pm - 9am only, slept in day, weather quite warm but some cold nights. Took carp from 15lb.2oz to the largest being 31lb.04oz also had 3 low double catfish. Single hard pop up's with 4oz lead did the trick, single hard pop up's had the edge over snowman. Not the hardest of waters but required respect, fish not stupid. Wild life sure helps pass the time away, what the hell was that great big furry thing outside my tent last night Pete??.... Fish - 1*30, 3*20, 1*19, 2*18, 2*17, 1*16 and some smaller ones

  • MAY

26th of April to 3rd of May 2003

Lake is absolutely superb with facilities to match. Pete and Fred are very sound geezers with snooker hall & walthamstow reservoirs backgrounds so you can't go wrong. The lake is full of wildlife with deer, lizards, snakes, ragondin and kingfishers. We found some bugs which had us running from our bivvies like a load of poofs but later discovered that these were dragonfly larve coming out of the lake to hatch. (An Interesting process to watch once the heart rate goes down) No action during the night except for the worlds most impressive thunder storm. Heard a few fish crash out - sounded like pigs falling out of helicopters, had no lumps ourselves but their in there. I'll just finish up by saying that we all stayed at a lake in Matouges last year and were treated to the best advert on how not to run a carp fishery/ing holiday. You guys have got it absolutely spot on. Change nothing and well see you again sometime for a bit of a crack!

    Chris, Dave & Trevor

    3rd - 10th of May 2003

Had a great time caught a 38lb mirror {dream come true) I'm new to carp fishing and this was my first time in France, Colin & Peter have been to France many times now and they Inform me this is the best they have ever been to. Listen to the owners and think hard about their advice but most Importantly of all take it on board as they know their lake and fish inside out

All had a great time Sean, Colin, Peter and Lee....Many thanks to Fred & Peter

    17th - 24th of May 2003

Thanks for the final night's lightning display a very nice send off (thought we were under attack from the Iraqi's

All the best Jezz, Gill & Kingy

Central Paris at 2.30am is a great time to see the sights. Several small catfish to 12lb with biggest carp just topping 21lb. • OCTOBER

    27th Sept - 4th October 2003

Hi Fred, we left at 6.15am saturday morning and we were indoors by 3pm but we were all very knackered. We had a very easy going week and we are all very re-charged. The fishing was very slow to start with after 3 days at the water side we had only had 2 fish on the bank first fish was a catfish of 13lb from the bottom swim. The second fish was a mirror carp that was taken by my brother Andrew in the top snag swim the size of that fish was 22lb from there on we had run after run but we started to lose fish after fish we had broken 25lb snake skin, hook's that were bent straight. I then moved from the bottom swim up to the top swim with my brother I did manage to take 2 fish from the bottom swim 1st fish was a mirror carp of 16lb.8oz and the 2nd fish was a mirror carp of 14lb.04oz and I lost 3 more fish one being a large carp or cat. The last 2 days and nights we all fished from the top three swims I had 2 runs and caught 2 carp 12lb and 16lb both mirror carp.

Fish that we caught from the lake were as follows:    Paul 6 fish taken 3 from the bottom swim 16lb.08oz, 14lb.04oz, 12lb all mirror carp 3 lost. 3 fish taken from the top snag swim 14lb, 12lb mirror and a 18lb common. Andrew my brother had 4 fish all taken from the top snag swim 18lb.08oz, 22lb.05oz, 14lb, 15lb all mirror carp, 8 fish lost. Andrew burgess had 1 fish 16lb.08oz with 1 fish lost from the 2nd swim down from the caravan. Jeff hayes had 2 fish one catfish of 13lb and a carp of 16lb the catfish came from bottom swim and the carp from 3rd swim down from the caravan, 2 fish lost.

Many Thanks and all the best Paul & Andrew Newman and Paul Burgess.

    4th - 11th October 2003

Had a super week and well pleased with our choice of venue. To be honest have lost count of how many fish we caught between the 3 of us but we did manage 3 thirty's with the biggest of the 3 going 37lb.07oz a truly awesome fish. Peter managed a new personal best of 28lb.10oz and was one of 8 twentie's we think that in addition to the above we caught about 15/16 other fish between 10lb - 20lb with a small cat of 18lb which nearly pulled the rod in!

Truly awesome fishing and as they say we will be back...Pete, Rob & Paul.

    11th - 18th October 2003

Had a great week, on a lovely looking lake, with great facilities. As much as we tried the fish wasn't having it with us, so we only had the 1 fish each between the two of us. Both 14lb mirrors, but put up a good scrap. We both enjoyed the weeks fishing and I've since heard of a lot of people that were in France fishing while we were out there said they had real hard times (and a few blanks!)

Will be aiming to come back sometime and beat your fish though!.......Andy & Mark from Middlesex

  • NOVEMBER

    1st - 8th November 2003

Very slow going for the first few days but came good for us towards the end of the week with Ross grabbing a big mirror carp which went 44lb.09oz. Carl bagged two 30's and three 20's, and Liam caught 11 fish biggest going 31lb.02oz with just the five fish for myself, 28lb.03oz the biggest.

Had a great week and caught more fish than we would have at home

    Cheer's Ross, Carl, Liam & Brad......Well pleased!!!

    15th - 22nd November 2003

Arrived just before dinner after a pleasant drive down and were very pleased with this venue as you do get very good value for money. The facilities are very good with english toilet and shower along with a very pleasant, clean and comfortable caravan that is next to the lake. My wife and I along with our 18 year old son enjoyed some fantastic action day and night and we ended up both breaking our personal best twice in one week!. In total we caught 27 fish between the pair of us with my new personal best now standing at 39lb and my son's now at 45lb.06, perhaps I taught him to well.

    Fish for the week were 45lb.06oz, 39lb, 33lb.09oz, 32lb.03oz, 29lb.09oz, 28lb.11oz, 28lb, 25lb.08oz, 23lb.05oz, 22lb.09oz, 20lb.04oz plus 16 doubles ranging from 14lb - 20lb

Thanks for all your help and look forward to seeing you again next year...Steve & Sue and son Gary from Somerset
