So tame at one time you could feed them out of your hands

Just under 5 acres yours for the duration of your stay

Etang des Palluau is situated about 12 miles from Etang des Merault but falls in the Indre Department 36 region of France.  If you have visited this region of France before you will need no Introduction, but for those of you who have not, I can tell you it is truly beautiful.  The river Indre runs right through the village where Etang des Palluau is situated and has played a significant part in the stocking of the lake…Let me explain!  We brought the lake from a really nice Old French man who had unfortunately had a stroke on his 92nd birthday, which had left him in a bad way.  The old man dug the lake himself in 1952 with the help of two friends.  Every fish that swims in the lake originally comes from…yes that's right, the river Indre.  Together with his friends they have put every type of fish you can imagine, {Mirror Carp, Common Carp, Ghost Carp, Catfish, Pike, Roach, Tench, Zander, Black Bass}.  We are having one hell of a job removing some of the fish as the lake is grossly over stocked, but where getting there.  The lake will be available for bookings from the first week in April 2001.  The biggest carp from this lake so far is a mirror of 37lb.11oz, caught by my lucky dad while decorating the cabin.  We are very sure that there are bigger carp to be caught, two of the several ghost carp are good upper 20's with many mirror's and at least one common over that magic 30lb!  The biggest problem we have at present, is that the fish are almost completely tame, being able to feed them bread from out of your hands.  I can assure you that this will soon change once they have been caught on rod and line.  The old man has not fished the lake for over 15 years, neither as anyone else.  This is really a super lake and has easy access with the road to Tour running close by.

Etang des Palluau has a fully equipped 4/5 berth caravan which has, cooking and sleeping facilities with a lounge area.  The caravan is situated 50ft from bankside.  There is also a small play area for the children and plenty of space. In addition to the caravan there is also the added advantage of a brick built cabin which has an open fire, small kitchen and seating area. There is also a toilet and shower.
